Chuck Baxter
Chuck started working in the tree industry in 2012 while studying Outdoor Education at the University of New Hampshire. He has worked for various residential tree companies throughout New England.
He served as the City Arborist for Portsmouth, NH for six years. During this time, he established the City’s bare root tree planting program, helped develop City tree planting specifications, and created a tree protection ordinance for all City projects. These efforts led to The Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree Growth Award in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021.
Chuck founded Shady Grove Tree Care as a way to provide services for residential, municipal and commercial tree projects. He is an ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualified, and a Maine Licensed First Class Landscape Arborist.
Chuck lives in South Portland, Maine and enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and friends. He is a licensed Alaska fishing Guide, Wilderness First Responder, and certified in CPR and AED.
